About Us

Kilcronaghan Activity and Conference Centre is situated at the foot of the Sperrin Mountains, Northern Ireland and provides an excellent residential base for anyone visiting

the local area.  Previously known as a Youth Hostel, it now offers 'home from home' comforts yet still at budget prices.

  • Individual tourists will find their stay enjoyable with high quality accommodation yet keen prices.

  • Larger groups, either adult or youth, are equally made welcome to use the facilities on a residential stay.

  • The large common rooms may also be used by organisations needing a base for team building, training or conference purposes.

  • A new mobile classroom in the grounds now allows groups to have the 'serious' sessions in the classroom & leave the common room to relax & chill out in.

The Centre is a springboard to the Sperrin area where there are many local attractions and activities to keep visitors happy.

8th Annual Vintage Rally & Family Fun Day.
Saturday 24th September 2011
This popular event was another wonderful success!  We were blessed with a beautiful sunny day & big crowds turned out to enjoy a day of  fun & enjoyment.  There was a record number of vintage entries this year - everyone was keen to show their well maintained vehicles & stationary engines.  The Family Pet Show, once again sponsored by Paws on the Hill Grooming Studio, Moneymore, had a huge interest with lots of dogs of all sizes entered.

The usual attratctions such as the Bouncy Castles, Car boot & Home Produce sales, the Line Dancers & Highland Dancers all drew big interest. The Rare Breeds were again a popular side show & these well groomed animals were well displayed  in the judging ring. The  wonderful Falcon Display with racing feretts & the working dogs also proved very popular new attractions.
As always this day involves a lot of pre-planning & organising.  The Committee would like to extend their thanks to everyone who helped in any way - all contributions were much appreciated.  Thanks also to the many local business' who provided sponsorship to the event.

Five Road Ends Ulster Scots Summer School, Monday 25th - Friday 29th July 2011 - we had a wonderful week of fun & learning.  The local children enjoyed all activities & especially the bus trip to The Ulster American Folk Park.  Thanks to the local support & also to the Ulster Scots Agency for their financial assistance.

Thank-you to everyone who supported the annual plant sale on Tuesday 31st May 2011.
There was a great turn out & lots of local gardens will be much brighter this summer!
A big thanks to our green-fingered ladies who provided another wonderful selection of healthy plants, shrubs & hanging baskets! Without their hard work & dedication we would not be able to hold this annual event.
Thanks also to those who donated items & helped in preparing for the evening.

Annual Charity BBQ & Dance, Friday 17th June 2011.
This was a wonderful night with a record number of guests attending.  There was tremendous support from the local communities of Tobermore, Draperstown & Desertmartin & even further afield!  All proceeds of the evening were in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.  Once again the talented pupils from Kilross PS & St Columbas PS, Straw, Draperstown, provided entertainment.  Many thanks to Mrs Crossett & Mrs Regan for their support of this annual event.  The live band kept us dancing till the early hours! The organisers would like to thank everyone who sponsored items or who helped out at any stage in organising this event.
