  • FLOWER ARRANGING CLASS  for beginners, with international demonstrator, Mr James Burnside.
These classes have now finished.  We were overwhelmed by the interest in registering for this course. Both classes on                       Monday & Wednesday were very popular, indeed there was a lengthly waiting list for cancellations.                                                The previously untapped talents of those who attended soon flurished under the expert guidance of James.  The class quickly           progressed from simple 3-5 stem arrangements to large arrangements suitable for any occassion, and they each produced               stunning hand-tie arrangements on the final night.  The classes were enjoyed by all who attended.
We would like to thank Awards for All for their assistance & support in funding the classes.

  • The first Five Road Ends Ulster Scots Summer School in August 2008 was a great success.  Spaces were limited and 34 local 7 - 14 yr olds were lucky to have secured their places at the registration night in June.                         Activities included: Music workshops with the Fiddle, Pipes, Skeleton Drums, Highland & Country Dancing, Arts & Crafts, Archery, Baking, IFA Football Coaching.                                                                                                       The week long summer school finished with a BBQ & display of new talents for parents & grandparents. We would like to thank everyone who helped before & during the week.
A special word of thanks to our main sponsor The Ulster Scots Agency & to the following businesses who also supported the Summer School:Sportique, Magherafelt: Dunnes Stores, Magherafelt: Coca Cola, Lambeg: HSENI: Magherafelt District Council: Poundstretcher, Cookstown: Instore, Magherafelt: Tesco, Cookstown: Asda, Cookstown

  • We were blessed with good weather for our annual vintage rally on Saturday 22nd September 2007. All classes of vintage were present along with various stalls selling home made products. The kids had Bouncy Castles, Climbing Wall and face painting to keep them happy.

  • The Annual Kilcronaghan Charity Gymkhana was held on 28th July 2007. A beautiful dry, sunny morning welcomed horses, riders & spectators to the Activity Centre. There was great anticipation as the classes got under way, with spectators favouring previous years’ winners while enjoying newcomers to the competition. There were a high number of entries for each class, raising the competition, & allowing riders to get the best from their horse. The car boot & home produce sale was well attended & those who didn’t get a cup were sure to get a bargain! Proceeds from the day were presented to the NI Children’s Hospice at the Activity Centre a few weeks later. The Committee of Kilcronaghan Community Association would like to thank all those who gave donations, sponsored the event & helped out on the day. Click here for some pictures taken at the event.

  • The "Five Road Ends Festival" took place from Thursday 24th May until Monday 28th May 2007. This was the first time the committee had arranged a series of events over 4 days. All events were well supported with something to suit every taste. Events included
  • Storytelling
  • Five Road Ends BBQ & Dance
  • Family Fun Day
  • Treasure Hunt & Social Evening
