Press coverage of the Official opening

Farm Minister Brid Rodgers officially opened the activity and conference centre in Tobermore. Mrs Rodgers praised those behind the project and wished it every success in the future. KilcronaghanCommunity Association has been working on the project for five years. The former Rectory has been completely refurbished and extended to accommodate around 40 guests. In addition to en suite facilities there is a recreation room and conference hall. Funding for the project, as part of the Rural Development Programme, has come from various agencies and Magherafelt District Council. Vice-Chairman of the council, Bertie Montgomery, has been a strong supporter of the project. "I am delighted that the centre has finally opened," he told the Mail, "Everyone involved in its planning over the past five years is to be congratulated. The development is aimed at attracting tourists, especially walkers, to the Sperrins area. Hopefully we will get many more visitors to the area in the years ahead."
